Regarding the Ascension of the Lord, the ecclesiastical provinces of Boston, Hartford, New York, Newark, Philadelphia, and the State of Nebraska have retained its celebration on the proper Thursday, while all other provinces have transferred this solemnity to the 7th Sunday of Easter, May 24. If transferred, Thursday, May 21, is observed as an Easter Weekday. The following readings are used: Acts 18: 1-8/Jn 16:16-20.

In those places where the observance of the solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord has been transferred to this day, the Mass and readings of the Ascension are used: Acts 1:1-11/Eph 1:17-23 or 4:1-13 or 4"1-7, 11-13/Mk 16:15-20
